As a gluten-intolerant myself, I know how hard it can be at this time of the year when months of food restrictions and dieting are thrown away in a couple of merry weeks, in family and friends gathering around the table.
In the last couple of years, I’ve been trying to find good alternatives to survive the festivities, without feeling like an alien among my family and friends, and I found 2 articles that really did help me to prepare a delicious GF menu for everyone.
1st article - from the perspective of Jane Anderson, a medical journalist and an expert in celiac disease, in a website article for 'verywell fit', from last October, “Holidays Can Be Tough Emotionally on the Gluten-Free Diet”, According to this author
for many people who have celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, holidays represent a bit of torture and socializing around the holidays, especially with friends and relatives can be hard when you can't eat any of the food that's being served.
- Jane Anderson is a medical journalist and an expert in celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, and the gluten-free diet that can be found on facebook @AboutCeliacDiseaseAndGlutenSensitivity and twitter under @JaneGlutenFree | read the article in https://www.verywellfit.com/holidays-can-be-tough-emotionally-on-the-gluten-free-diet-562330

2nd article - Georgia Austin writes about “How to Prepare for a Gluten Free Holiday” in a 'Where the Wheatless Things' are blog post, where she shares her views on how Going on holiday can be exciting, but when you are coeliac or gluten intolerant it can also be nerve-wracking.
- Georgia Austin is a London based gluten-free blogger sharing wheatless (and meatless) things around the world and can be found in Twitter and Facebook under @wheatlessthings. Read the article in https://wheatlessthings.com/blog/2019/6/7/how-to-prepare-for-a-gluten-free-holiday
So, after reading these two articles, and from my personal experience, if you are planning on to stick with your Gluten-Free dieting this Christmas, this is what you should do:

- Plan ahead – host a Christmas dinner where everything you serve is gluten-free (GF).
- Bake-it yourself – volunteer to take a dessert and bake a GF pie or cake.
- Pack supplies – if traveling for the Holidays make sure to pack snack and medication to prevent or minimize the risk of being “glutened”.
